Imagine escaping the endless tourist queues, the postcards everyone has already seen, and the rushing from one famous landmark to another—only to arrive exhausted, having missed the soul of Italy entirely. Now imagine, instead, five nights where everything unfolds at a slower pace, where you're guided by someone who knows this land intimately, someone who can lead you to the best café where locals gather for espresso, where you eat food that tastes like the story of the region itself.
You've probably been to Italy before. You've stood in the Colosseum, taken a photo in front of a famous fountain, walked through cities so crowded you could barely breathe. And somewhere in those moments, you felt the soul of Italy slipping away from you, buried under tour groups and selfie sticks.
This retreat is built on a different premise: that Italy is best experienced when you slow down. When you sit in a café with a local who's been going there for decades. When you cook pasta with a nonna who learned it from her grandmother. When you have time to notice the late-afternoon light hitting the water and realize you're exactly where you need to be.
Marta, who leads this retreat, is an Italy native. She knows this land intimately. She knows which gelato shop has the best pistachio, where the quiet moments happen, and how to create a space where you can finally, truly rest. She's partnered with Briana, a dear friend and certified yoga and Pilates teacher, to build an experience that nourishes both body and soul.
We chose April 13–18 on purpose. It's spring on the Amalfi Coast—the perfect time when the weather is mild (think 63–66°F), the wildflowers are blooming, and the beaches aren't yet packed with summer tourists. The light is soft and golden. The sea is calm. The restaurants are full of locals, not crowds.
Praiano, where you'll stay, is one of those rare coastal villages that hasn't been completely swallowed by tourism. It's perched on the cliffs, with narrow streets that wind down to the sea, with cafés where you'll recognize the same faces day after day. It's exactly the kind of place where time moves differently.
Your home for the retreat is a charming hotel in Praiano with sea views that will take your breath away. It's not a luxury resort trying to impress you with glitz. It's authentic, warm, and genuinely Italian—the kind of place where you feel welcomed as a guest, not processed as a customer.
Each room offers a private bathroom, air conditioning, Wi-Fi, and a terrace where you can sit with your morning coffee and watch the world wake up. The property has a pool where you can float and think about nothing. The staff moves at a pace that reminds you how to breathe.
Included in your stay: accommodation, all breakfasts and dinners featuring authentic Italian cuisine, daily yoga and Pilates classes, a private guided tour of Pompeii, meeting our favorite artisans in Amalfi and Positano, a hands-on cooking class with a local chef, and round-trip transfers from Naples Airport or Train Station. Everything is taken care of. Your only job is to show up and be present.

Mornings rooted in intention
Each day begins at 7:30 AM with coffee and a slow start—no rushing, just you and the sound of the coast waking up. By 8:30 AM, you'll join Briana for a 60-minute yoga and Pilates fusion class designed to be accessible to every body and every level of experience. Whether you're a seasoned practitioner or stepping onto a mat for the first time, modifications are always available. Everything is an invitation, never an obligation.
Afternoons of exploration and connection
After brunch at 10:00 AM, the day opens up. You might spend time in Amalfi or Positano, wandering the colored streets and ducking into artisan shops tucked away from the crowds. You might join a foraging experience, discovering wild ingredients and learning how to cook with them. Or you might simply sit by the pool or at the beach, read, journal, and let your nervous system remember how to rest.
Afternoons that hold a private Pompeii tour
One day, you'll explore the ruins of Pompeii with a private guide—standing in a city frozen in time, which has a way of putting everything into perspective. It's the kind of experience that stays with you long after the trip ends.
A cooking class with a local chef
Another afternoon, you'll step into a kitchen with an authentic Italian chef and learn to make regional specialties. Not from a cookbook. From someone who's been making this food her whole life, who knows the secrets that don't make it into books, who understands that food is love.
Slow evenings
Evenings are for long dinners. For conversations that meander. For wine from local vineyards. For food that tastes like the story of the region. For sitting together as a group of women who are beginning to feel like friends, sharing stories and laughter under the Italian sky.

You'll return to your normal life with something that doesn't fit neatly into luggage. You'll have experienced Italy not as a tourist, but as someone who belongs there. You'll have moved your body in ways that made you feel strong and alive. You'll have eaten food that nourished you—yes, including carbs, because that's how Italians eat, and we're not afraid of it. You'll have spent six days in the presence of other women, which has a way of reminding you that you're not alone in your search for meaning.
This isn't a retreat about pushing yourself. It's about putting everything down for six days—the emails, the to-do lists, the voice in your head that says you're not doing enough—and remembering that sometimes the most important work is the work of simply being present. Of breathing. Of tasting your food. Of noticing the light on the water. Of laughing with friends.
Spots are intentionally limited (only 12 spots!) to keep this experience intimate. If this is calling to you, don't wait too long to reach out.
