There's a moment—usually around day three—when everything shifts. If you are searching for the Best Yoga Retreat in Puglia, you might be hoping for exactly this kind of transformative experience.
You're sitting on a terrace overlooking the Adriatic Sea. The morning Vinyasa practice is still moving through your body. Your hands still smell like pasta dough from yesterday's class. You're surrounded by women you didn't know five days ago, and somehow they feel like sisters.
This is the Deep Dive.
This isn't a yoga vacation where you squeeze in a class between shopping trips. This is a practice—a deep, devoted week dedicated entirely to reconnection. To your body. To your breath. To the women around you. To the slow, ancestral rhythms of Southern Italy.
Deep Dive is a 6-day, 5-night yoga and cultural immersion retreat designed specifically for women and gender-expansive folks who are ready to slow down and go deep.
Created in partnership between Sydney Clemens McCowan (yoga teacher and retreat architect) and Marta Pizzirani (founder of Grapefruit Luxury Retreats), this retreat combines serious yoga practice with authentic cultural experiences in one of Italy's most magical, least-touched regions: Puglia.
When: September 6-11, 2027
Where: Masseria Specula, Puglia, Italy
Group Size: 1-14 participants (intentionally intimate)
Price: $2,400–$3,800 (depending on room type)
Here's what makes this different: Marta doesn't just sell retreats. She lives in Italy. She knows Puglia. She eats Apulian food regularly. She has relationships with the people who host these retreats. She knows which beaches are wild and unspoiled. Which villages have kept their soul. Which restaurateurs will feed you like family.
Sydney doesn't just lead yoga. She designs transformative experiences through the body. She creates rhythms—the rhythm of practice, rest, community, silence—that actually allow people to change.
Together, they've built something that honors both practices: serious yoga and authentic travel.
Puglia is where tourists haven't ruined everything yet. It's where your Italian grandmother's grandmother came from—rocky coastlines, ancient whitewashed villages, olive groves that have stood for centuries, and food that tastes like it has a story.
You'll stay at Masseria Specula, a restored traditional masseria (fortified farmhouse) set between the Adriatic Sea and rolling countryside. It's the kind of place where time moves differently. Where you can walk 15 minutes and find yourself at a wild, unspoiled beach. Where evenings are spent on a terrace with the sea in the distance and honest wine in your glass.
This is not a resort. There are no resort vibes here. This is a real place where real people live, where the owners (who live on-site) have spent years restoring it with intention, and where every detail has been chosen to support deep practice.
Every morning begins with 90-minute Vinyasa classes led by Sydney. These aren't gentle, "Instagram yoga" flows. These are practices—moving meditations designed to build heat, strength, and presence.
Every evening winds down with Yin Yoga—slower, longer holds that calm the nervous system and prepare you for real sleep.
Between asana, you'll have space. Real space. To journal. To sit. To talk with other practitioners. To do nothing at all.
This rhythm—intense practice balanced with genuine rest—is what creates transformation. Not the Instagram moments. The integration moments.

One afternoon, you'll make pasta from scratch with a teacher who learned from her grandmother. You'll feel the dough under your hands. You'll understand, finally, why Italian food isn't "cuisine"—it's conversation.
You'll have an olive oil tasting led by local producers, learning to taste the terroir in every bottle.
You'll take a day trip to Alberobello, the trulli-filled hillside village that looks like it belongs in a fairy tale.
But here's what matters: every meal is prepared by local women using ingredients from local sources. There's no fancy restaurant performance. This is real Apulian food—the food that has sustained this region for generations. The food that nourishes you at a cellular level.

You'll arrive as separate women.
By day two, you'll be practicing together in morning Vinyasa, something shifts in how you hold yourself.
By day four, you'll be laughing with people across the table who get it—who also came looking for something, without quite being able to name it.
By day six, you'll be exchanging numbers, making plans, discovering that the women you've met might become friends who stay in your life for years.
This is what the Deep Dive is actually about. Not Instagram photos (though you'll take them). The remembering that you're not alone. That other women are also hungry for depth, for practice, for real connection.
The Deep Dive is for women and gender-expansive folks who:
You don't need to be an experienced yogi. You do need to be genuinely interested in going deeper.
